One crucial criterion for an outstanding smartphone is its waterproof and anti-shock ability. Currently, most of the foam adhesive tapes available in China smartphone industry market are PO foam or PE foam base, or PU foam adhesive tapes imported from overseas. 

In view of the rising market demand of good quality waterproof and anti-shock foam adhesive tapes to be sourced locally, we initiated a research project in 2018 and have successfully developed a PU foam adhesive tapes with superior waterproof and anti-shock ability.

The double-sided adhesive tape is constructed by layers of macromolecular adhesive coating on specially engineered PU foam material. It forms secure bonding between substrates and prevent moisture and dust passing through. It can be used in mounting of electronic components, e.g. speaker mesh, microphone for smartphone industry, and mounting of frame, display for electronic and electrical industry.   

Our customer reached out to us during their new product development phase. They encountered the following problems during the project:

1. Around the steam outlet, the nameplate and the PC cover were often found detached.

2. Occasionally, the control panel would not respond. It was because water from the stream accumulated and seeped through the gaps and caused the electronic components short-circuited.

After understanding customer’s needs, our R&D team tailored made a new adhesive series that would solve all the problems. This series bonds with PC cover well, which remains high adhesion power even working at high temperature environment. It has very good aging properties that can undergo thousands of working cycles.
